I have seen over 10,000 movies in my life.  The links above will take you to the ones I believe are worth seeing.  Some are intensely moving but can be enjoyed only once.  Some are lighter in nature and can be watched many times.   A few are here that are not good but provide some insight into the movie making process or an actor's development.

This list got started because I am often asked what is my favorite movie.  "Well there are many," is my response.  Then I begin reciting slowly as I rethink the question for the thousandth time....  After naming eight or so movies, I am asked for a list.  This is the list.

I believe that good stories told in books and movies have replaced the fireside stories of our earlier existence. They both tell of our mythos and serve as a way of communicating our shared values.  While I am critic of how we have become addicted to entertainment, I still see value in these movies.  The tale of the epic hero will never fade.  We are all romantics at some level and we do hope that true love will prevail.  Your comments are welcome please use the Contact form on the menu above.  The vast majority of this was typed without any spell checking.  So letting me know where I have erred would be helpful.  Also, let me know if you do not find a film you think should be here....there are some great movies I haven't yet seen.
